Our little stud. He weighs 7.6 pounds. He is a very sweet and happy boy, and his tail is always wagging. He loves meeting new people and just wiggles all over. Luca is a great dancer. He does his Bolo dance whenever he wants treats, and I have timed him dancing for almost 4 minutes so far. When things are quiet, he loves to snuggle.
Ruby is our oldest female—by 1 month. She weighs 8.2 pounds. She is very sweet and just a little shy sometimes. She is a very content little girl. Her favorite thing in life is watching whatever is going on while chewing on bully sticks. She’s very smart, and she will tilt her head when you talk to her, as if concentrating on exactly what is being said.
All puppies are sweet! They are all sweet, cuddly, wiggly, and affectionate. Many times people have the idea that female puppies are more mellow and easier to train, but in actuality, boys are just as easy.
Female puppies usually rule the roost and can be very independent and territorial. Females will let you know who’s the boss right away and will try to establish dominance. As they age, they tend to become more reserved.
Males are very playful, attentive, affectionate, and want to please you. They are also motivated by food making them easy to train. The one myth that needs to be debunked is that males are always “humping” or lifting their leg to potty on everything. If a male is neutered early, he rarely exhibits these traits. In fact, boys who are neutered by about 5 months of age usually don’t ever raise their leg to potty.
So, when considering a puppy, don’t forget the boys. They will win your heart and keep it!
